Some updates from the first remote sensing attempts

Over the last weeks, I’ve been working on the most problematic segments of the route from Aquileia to Singidunum. The first updates I have to report come from the Serbian part. I’ve been working on the segment from Sremska Mitrovica (Sirmium) to Belgrade (Singidunum), crossing the references coming from the bibliography with some remote sensing analysis. Here you can see only an overview of the results, more detailed datas will be published in collaboration with the staff of the Archaeology Institute of Belgrade who is being of great support.

The results are quite encouraging, but this is only a first step to reach a real definition of the layout of the road: a very important stage will be the validation of what we can see from satellite images through a survey on the field. Serbia_remote.png
